Hemp cultivation is supervised by the State Plant Service under the Ministry of Agriculture. Hemp growers are allowed to grow hemp only in open fields, for sowing and only certified seeds are used. It is necessary to declare owned crop, all the products must be held in declared warehouses and it is mandatory to provide samples for the determination of THC.
Hemp seeds, their products, raw materials or soaked hemp that are sold but are not intended for sowing must have an accredited laboratory certificate confirming that the THC content of hemp, from which these products are derived, does not exceed 0.2 per cent.
In order to import hemp seeds to Lithuania importers are required to gain a status of verified importer. Such status can only be given to a legal or natural person of impeccable reputation.
